You should immediately contact the nearest Deputy State District Attorney (Ministerio Publico) and present documents showing that you are the owner of the vehicle. Once that occurs, the Deputy DA will take a report and initiate an investigation to locate your vehicle. Do not file a report in México if the vehicle was stolen in the United States. If your vehicle is recovered, you can go to the Municipal Judge to resolve your case, without having to pay towing, storage, or a fine.
